This book changed my life, but it's not an easy read. I think it took me a year to plow through it, then years after to work out how to integrate and adapt the habits. I draw from Stephen Covey's many books often and give him a grateful thanks.

An in-depth discussion of the habits of Love, including generosity, stillness, truth, candor, play, forgiveness, compassion and community.
5. The Places That Scare You: A Guide to Fearlessness in Difficult Times, Pema Chödrön, 2007
One in a series of good books by this amazing Buddhist monk. This book teaches us how to awaken our basic goodness and connect with others, and stay in the present moment by seeing through the strategies of ego that cause us to resist life as it is.
6. Personal Village, How To Have People In Your Life By Choice, Not Chance, Marvin Thomas, 2003
Your most valuable asset is the people in your life. This little book offers a plan for how to call together a community of people "by choice, not by chance."
